Stage 4 · Department by department

Find the friction. Then remove it.

Every department has work that swallows time and adds nothing: re-keying, chasing, formatting, copying between systems. Two to four hours with the people who actually do the job finds it. Then we decide, with them, whether the fix is training, a tool, or a build.

How it works

What happens, in order.

01

Watch the work

We sit with the people doing the job and follow the real process, not the one on the org chart. The workarounds and the double entry show up quickly.

02

Name the friction

Together we list what costs time, what causes errors, and what people dread. Each item gets an honest estimate of hours and a view on how fixable it is.

03

Choose the fix

Some friction disappears with an hour of training. Some needs a tool the business already pays for, set up properly. Some needs a build. You get the recommendation for each, in order.

Where the answer is tooling, the follow-on starts with low-risk, low-effort, high-gain prototypes that prove the gain before anything is built in full.

Questions

Before you book.

Can we start with one department?

Yes. Departmental Discovery is priced per department and often starts with the one causing the most pain. The rest can follow.

Who needs to attend?

The department head and the people who do the work day to day. Two to five people is typical. The session is at their desks where possible.

What if the fix is a tool we already have?

Then that is the recommendation. A good share of the friction we find is solved by tools the business already pays for, used properly.
