Hands-on AI training for UK SMEs.

Practical, hands-on AI training for UK SME leadership and operations teams. Foundations, LLM workshops, AI strategy, and tools-and-platforms training delivered by Gary Cheers: public speaker on AI, host of the AI Breakfast Club, founder of Wingenious. Cohort-based, regional in-person plus UK-wide remote. We do not teach theory. We teach what we build, every day, for real businesses. Your team leaves able to put AI to work the next day, not just nod along to theory.

§ Why AI training fails for most SMEs

Most AI training is academic, generic, and dated.

It teaches AI from a textbook. It uses generic examples that do not map onto your business. It is taught by people who do not build AI for real clients every day. It is delivered as a one-off lecture, not as a cohort that implements something real before the day ends. Wingenious training is the opposite. Gary teaches the exact prompts, tools and workflows he uses with paying clients, with attendees actually building something live in the room.

Five productised training programmes

From foundations to leadership.

Five cohort programmes, each priced per head, each designed for a different stakeholder. Mix and match per cohort. The typical SME runs AI Strategy for leadership, LLM Workshops for ops, and Tools-and-Platforms for everyone.

Who runs it

Gary Cheers. He teaches what he builds.

Every Wingenious training session is led by Gary, founder of Wingenious. Thirty years in UK digital strategy. Two decades primarily in e-commerce. The last three years deep in AI as an early adopter, public speaker and hands-on practitioner. Speaks publicly to conferences, business events, schools and colleges across the UK. The teaching philosophy in one sentence: a video is a product, a person in the room is a relationship.

What this means in practice: every Wingenious cohort attendee leaves with something real. Not slides. Not theory. A working prompt they wrote. A live Make.com workflow they built. A 90-day plan for their own business, drafted in the room. The training pays back from day one because attendees leave with deliverables, not just notes.

Made Smarter offers match-funded grants up to £20,000 to UK manufacturing and construction SMEs in the Midlands and North, where AI work is explicitly eligible. Welsh Government has committed £2.1m to Welsh SME AI adoption via Business Wales, with tourism and events sectors explicitly named. How much does AI training cost for an SME?

Wingenious AI Training cohorts are priced on application based on cohort size, format and travel. Group cohorts are 8 to 12 attendees.
